The last of her story collections I read is I am No One You Know... some were so disturbing that I put the whole book aside. I've had mixed reaction to her novels. A few have been great and others I can't even remember the titles. I hope to read some of her older classic novels next year.JoAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13691864361197071517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4324469465904961710.post-837097322525471052011-11-01T09:47:09.879-04:002011-11-01T09:47:09.879-04:00This is one of my favorite stories EVER. I only read this one a year or two ago, and I quickly incorporated it into the Intro to Lit classes I teach. It's a perfect example of what ambiguity can do for us as readers and the multiple ways one can interpret a story based on textual evidence. Students are often resistant at first, but they quickly warm up to the idea that Arnold Friend can be perceived in a number of ways (and he might just be the devil!). Awesome, awesome stuff. I would love to read some of the critical essays along with this one. :)Andihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05220718933942181809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4324469465904961710.post-38455600993561210232011-11-01T08:01:19.115-04:002011-11-01T08:01:19.115-04:00Natalie, this does sound frightening, and even mor...Natalie, this does sound frightening, and even more so because I have a teenage daughter that is starting to flex her independence a little bit.
