One of the benefits of moving and tackling those final boxes is that I come across a gem like this. These are my baby shoes, that even have the baby ID tag from the hospital in Manila, Philippines looped around the buckle. I didn't wear these on my way home from the hospital, of course, as I wore them when I was a little bigger, but it's nice to have them together like this. I haven't seen these in more than five years. They were in my storage unit that I hadn't looked at until we moved back to Virginia Beach. I had forgotten about them completely.

It is awesome that you still have these! You should have them bronzed.
ReplyDeleteHaha adorable! Looks like you made good use of them as a toddler :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet and I love the sepia effect you did on the photo. Mine is about significant shoes too. Just for a little older girl. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. Like Kay, I'm a fan of the sepia tone in pics such as this.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! What a cool picture!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool picture, and I love the shoes! I don't know if my mom saved mine, but I am going to have to ask!
ReplyDeletewow! those are adorable, and what a treasure to find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure!...and a great picture.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice finding little surprises like these, isn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteThis photo is just beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great shot! What kind of special effects or lighting did you use with it? It looks like something out of an archive.
ReplyDeleteThanks! My sister is a true photographer (graceprotzman.com or digitalgraces.com), so I've been trying to learn a lot from her. We experiment a lot with our iPhones, and lately, that's where I actually edit a lot of my photos. There are a few camera apps I use to "layer" the filter of the shots (learned that also from my sister). I'll take the shot, upload it into one app called Camera Noir, adjust the lighting and filters there first, and then upload it to Instagram. Sometimes I'll use Snapseed. When I upload it to my Mac, I'll use picnik.com to add the text, or throw some more filtering on top of that.
DeleteMy digital camera is getting a bit jealous, so I wil have to return to that soon. But I will usually jump on picnik to make final editing.
I so need to learn how to better utilize my digital camera and get familiar with some of those iphone apps you mention. Your photo is very nice.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I can't believe the hospital tag is on there, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat find. These are the kinds of things I like to unearth in storage boxes. And I like the editing you did on the photo.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! I had no idea you were born in Manila!
ReplyDeleteI thought they were ballet slippers at first glance. Interesting effects -- makes for a very interesting shot.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you find your baby shoes, such a great keepsake. They're so sweet and I love the way you styled the photo.
ReplyDeleteArtistic shot and the tag is a good remembrance of where you were born. Very feminine.
ReplyDeleteOur first shoes were much different; they would have been white leather boots that laced up for learning to walk.
Adorable.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are made for walkin'!
Well, or maybe -- crawl, walk a bit, crawl, walk a bit, fall down, walk a bit....
Love those memories of the past.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great surprise, and you did a great job with the photo.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful photo! And what a cool item to come across while you're unpacking. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find and something to cherish.
ReplyDeleteI love finding stuff like this...I don't have my shoes but I think I have a little pair of booties somewhere and the dress I wore home from the hospital :) I need to pull those out and do something with them :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I love the colours and composition. Nice post-processing, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! What a great find :)
ReplyDeleteIt is great finding baby mementos like that. I occasionally find my one baby shoe surviving, and it's always amazing to look at.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!! Love the picture -- sweet and nostalgic!
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet and what a lovely surprise when you rediscovered them. The picture is priceless.
