Yes. I'm Going All the Way.

Well, almost. I'll admit that I get a little swayed by the masses at times. Who doesn't, though? We get our book recommendations from each other! Recently, I jumped on Twitter a few months back and even created a Facebook site a couple of weeks ago. Heck, I even did my first vlog last week.

So when it seemed that everyone recently was purchasing their domain names, I started to get a little paranoid. After all, I really bonded to the Coffee and a Book Chick name, and I slowly started to freak out that someone, somewhere in the world, would innocently purchase www.coffeeandabookchick.com and I would forever be mad at myself for not doing it sooner.

I have no idea if blogging will be a lifelong love - I know that there will be times in life when I won't blog as much, or even at all. But I knew that I wanted to have my own little corner on the great world wide web, and Coffee and a Book Chick was the sign I wanted to put over the door. Now, it's mine and I feel all warm and fuzzy.

So. Thank you to all the esteemed and veteran book bloggers for welcoming me into your ranks as a newbie. I've learned so much and I'm coming up on my official one year in May, and I'm pretty excited!

I think it should redirect you appropriately, but in case it doesn't, know that:

http://coffeeandabookchick.blogspot.com *should* redirect you to http://www.coffeeandabookchick.com.

Thank you!

Happy Reading,
Coffee and a Book Chick

  2. Well, I think everyone is convincing me to jump on the bandwagon. I'm thinking of switching too.

  3. You were smart to buy it now. Someone bought bermudaonion.com and they have it for sale and told us they would consider an offer of $2000 - that's why I ended up with bermudaonion.net. I'll update my reader.

  7. Congratulations on the big move. I did it myself several months ago. I also changed from Blogger to WordPress which was relatively painless. I kept all my entries, comments and followers.

  8. Another one! I'm scared to do that because everytime I futz with my blog it blows up. Still I am so messed up, because my blog url isn't even my blog name. Wasn't thinking straight when I started this whole thing.

  9. Congrats!!! Now if I'd get off my butt and actually put my blog on my domain, I'd be set, too. Very scary prospect. :D

  16. I recently made the transition myself and it's a great feeling seeing your blog name and a .com behind it! CONGRATS :)

  17. I'm not sure I understand why having a dot-com address is supposed to make us "look more professional", but someone did already purchase bookfoolery.com, quite a while ago. They sell textbooks. And, they know about me. Hmm.

  18. Good for you! I'd do the same thing, but I'm afraid that Zuckerberg guy might sue me :).

  19. Congrats! I don't think that I'll ever buy a domain because I mainly just blog for myself and I don't think I'll do more than that. I do have a wiki site for teaching purposes, but I doubt I'll buy that in the future either :)

  20. Yay, thanks, guys! Hugs to all of you for such wonderful support! Ultimately, I love blogging for myself, but I had the insatiable urge to make sure I purchased the domain so that I could have my own space. And it was super easy to do!

  23. Congratulations. I bought my domain about a year ago, and I'm glad I did. There's also so much more you can do with the design etc - there's so much more control! :D
